Hey there people. The site has been up down, so this has been quite delayed. Sorry about that. I’ll talk about yesterday right now, and bring up today’s events later on tonight. We traveled down to the Capitol building to take what was shaping up to be a fantastic tour. Before that we headed down to the Portrait Gallery to hear a very prestigious speaker: Chuck Todd. He is one of the most influential people in regards to White House journalism. His speech was very interesting, and he seemed like a very down to Earth man that had a lot of intelligence an insight on the things he was speaking on. His inspiring words helped me see that there may be another path in my future. After Mr. Todd, Dean Flagel had a talk with us regarding the college application process and how we should look to find a school for us. He is a very funny man that most certainly has a way with connecting to young adults when he speaks. He put a clear perspective into my mind of what college would be like.
After the Dean spoke, we traveled down to the Pentagon Mall to each lunch and enjoy a little down time. We went around and looked in the stores during our short visit before heading back to the bus for our highlight of the afternoon. Upon reaching the Capitol building, my friends and I enjoyed a few laughs together out on the front lawn and during the walk to the security check-in. The Capitol tour in general was kind of a drag, I personally thought it would be longer and a little more enjoyable. I guess I’ll take what I can get. Although it was pretty cool to be in a building with so much distinguished history behind it.
Well thats it campers, I’ll write back later tonight to explain the events of today. Only 1 1/2 days left! My how this week flew!
PEACE!!! =)
