Im coming!!!

What a great day! It was so informative and totally not what I expected. From Pokemon on laptops to “Rocky” races to meet Abraham Lincoln. Today started out with a little panel dialogue at the National Press Club. This dialogue was very interesting while it involved all the facts of the changing of times in Journalism and how it will look in the future. The speakers each had their own point of views and oppinions on the subject and each granted an excellent view into the world of political journalism.
After that our group traveled down to the smithsonean (sp?) museum to hang out and tour the worldwide cultures collected among three buildings. The first building was filled with collect ables from throughout American History, from the Civil War to WWII to Segregation. These artifacts were very interesting and very cool to see. I enjoyed viewing things throughout history that were actually used and perfectly preserved. The second building was the Air & Space Museum. The one thing that was on everybody’s mind of course was: FOOD!!! Hallelujah for a food court after all that walking. With all that McDonalds stuffed into my stomach I was ready to take on the rest of the day. The Air & Space Museum was very interesting, but the Natural History Museum was awesome. With objects and exhibits that included the Hope Diamond, and an Ocean exhibit.
We then went to the Arlington campus of GMU and experienced a mountain climbing group activity, and then a delicious dinner provided by the school. After that we went to another panel discussion that was split up into a few seperate rooms. I went to the room featuring Ms. Kathy Orton, a sports reporter for the Washington Post. She was most definatly the most interesting speaker of the whole Conference, not only because I love sports, but because she had a way with words. She informed me of things I never thought of involving the world of Journalism. I will most certainly be trying to contact her to talk about how I can become a better journalist and get my foot in the door and begin a career.
Well now its really late due to traffic coming home so im signing off. Goodnight George Mason
